about the theory of development and dissolution of the ego

One of my central interests - the theory of psychological / spiritual development of personality, although I write once more about sex. Perhaps it's because I am particularly interested in examples of sexual development is traced. There is many theories of development, almost all have heard, for example, Piaget, and Maslow. Below I would like to share links to those sources that seem to me relevant to date. All of them are closely related to each other and influenced each other.

most common and the total (integral) representation of the development of the individual gave I think Ken Wilber. It is based on all or nearly all of them recycled papers on this topic from different kultur and eras, ranging from Buddhist sages and ending with modern psychology and business consultants. For an introduction to Wilber's best to read his work " Brief History of Everything ", written by easy, non-technical style. Whatever this philosophy, psychology and spiritual practice, not talking, to me it seems as if not the most "advanced" today Day man on the planet, then just one.
Much of Wilber's model is based on the model of so-called. Spiral Dynamics Graves. Although the spiral dynamics is essentially is purely explanatory theory, it is widely used in consulting agency, the recruitment of staff, management, leadership theory etc. A good introduction to Spiral Dynamics can be heard here .
third model, with which I have just lucky find - a model of nine levels of ego development Susanne Cook-Greuter. You can read about it here . Of spiral dynamics this model features a large scientific and less commercial approach. This theory is at the moment struck me as more profound, although it is possible that the euphoria about this will soon pass.
And finally, the fourth model of ego development by Samuel Widmer I wrote in my last post here . Widmer, of course, also delved into a variety of sources, including the first three, and tried to bring them to a common denominator in the context of their own work with psychedelic drugs and sexuality. It is an indisputable advantage of its model for those interested in these taboo topics. Its flaws - handling almost exclusively feelings, "unscientific" and a superficiality.

Despite the strong interest in theory development, they all seem to be largely similar to each other. What is often lacking to me, it's some kind of completely new, innovative approach to the ego, which for example at the time gave Freud. Also, all of them, even the theory of Wilber, have not yet given an extended answer the main question: how to appear at each level of pathology and how to deal with them? Wilber gives a so-called. about-extended descriptions of each pathology level and refers to the types of therapy. But I am interested in rather a mechanism of pathology and their structure, not in terms of psychotherapy, but in the context of the theory development. That is, most would be interested to learn about the causes and mechanics of regression to lower levels. Very much has been written on the growth of consciousness. And I am personally much more interested to why a man so quickly again, "sliding" down? Why resigniruet so soon, even after reaching peak experiences?
